Terms and Conditions

Your booking of a tour through Eye Travel Taiwan’s website signifies your acceptance of the terms and conditions of Eye Travel Taiwan.

Reservations and deposit

Confirmation letter including the account and the password to log in will be sent from Eye Travel Taiwan after you complete the deposit payment procedure. Generally speaking, for PRIVATE TOUR, the tour is confirmed right after you receive the confirmation letter. But your GROUP TOUR booking is subject to availability and is not confirmed even you have received the confirmation letter until we have emailed you a formal confirmation. Please do not make non-changeable travel plans until you receive your confirmation. Generally, the deposite will be 30%~40% of the total tour cost and the accepted methods of payment for deposit are credit card (Visa, American Express, MasterCard, Discover and JCB) and Paypal.

Balance payment

Accepted methods of payment for balance

  • Cash
    Please pay the balance in cash to the tour guide at the end of the tour
  • Credit card (Visa, American Express, Discover, MasterCard and JCB) and Paypal
    If you opt to pay by credit card or Paypal, we charge a non-refundable surcharge of 5% based on how much the balance is. You can avoid this fee by paying in cash.

All payments must be made in New Taiwan Dollars (NTD).

Changes

Eye Travel Taiwan may assess changes fees for changes you make after submitting your booking request such as changing a hotel category or dropping an extra night or bike rental… etc. Eye Travel Taiwan may treat date changes, especially those close to departure dates, like cancellations and assess cancellation fees. Please be as sure as possible of your plans when you book.

Cancellation by you

Cancellations must be made to Eye Travel Taiwan in writing via email. Cancellation fees vary on different conditions. Please note that cancellation fees usually increase as the tour date approaches.

  1. If you cancel at least 30 days in advance of the scheduled departure date, you will be qualified for a refund but will be charge with cancellation fee (20% of deposit).
  2. If you cancel between 14 and 30 days in advance of the scheduled departure date, you will be qualified for a refund but will be charge with cancellation fee (40% of deposit).
  3. If you cancel between 7 and 14 days in advance of the scheduled departure date, you will be qualified for a refund but will be charge with cancellation fee (60% of deposit).
  4. No refunds will be allowed within 7 days before the scheduled departure date.
  5. The deposit is usually on 30~40% of total tour cost.

Eye Travel Taiwan will refund what you have paid minus credit card service fee (if applicable) and any cancellation fees within 1-3 business days after we receive the cancelation notification from you. Refunds are given in New Taiwan dollars based on the value of the paid currency at the time of refund.

Cancellation by Eye Travel Taiwan

Some tour (Generally for GROUP TOUR) are subject to a minimum number of participants. Should Eye Travel Taiwan cancel a tour due to an insufficient number of participants, or any other reason, such as severe natural disasters. You are entitled to a refund of funds paid toward the tour or may have an option to apply those funds toward another tour. Eye Travel Taiwan will refund your payments within 1-3 business days after we notify you of the cancellation of the tour. Further details as below.

If Severe natural disasters such as typhoon, earthquake, flood, landslide... etc. will influence the location where the tour will be operated, we may cancel the tour according to the government announcement.

  • BEFORE TOUR START: If the Taiwan Government issue typhoon alert, earthquake alert or flood warning… etc before the scheduled departure date, in the worst case scenario, the tour will be canceled and we only charge NT 100 for Paypal transaction fee for your refund.
  • AFTER TOUR START: For safety reason, our driver guide has the right to cancel or change the tour during the tour when typhoon alert is issued or natural disaster would influence the tour. Refund will not be issued.

Refunds

In case of cancellation, Eye Travel Taiwan will refund any difference between what you have paid and any cancellation fees within 1-3 business days after we receive the cancellation notification from you or after we nofify you of the cancellation of the tour to your credit card or Paypal account used to pay.

Limitation of liability

The responsibility of Eye Travel Taiwan is strictly limited. Eye Travel Taiwan ("ETT") is committed to providing you with an enjoyable and memorable experience, however, our number one priority is your safety and welfare. ETT has taken extra measures to ensure your safety through extensive training of its Tour Guides and developing clear policies and regulations. Our guides have received education regarding local regulations of Taiwan relating to operating our vehicles safely and possess specific certifications for driving commercially with safety as a priority.

Although ETT has taken reasonable steps to provide our guests with skilled tour guides so they can enjoy an activity for which they may not be skilled, no activity is without risk. Certain risks are inherent in each activity and these inherent risks can be the cause of loss of or damage to equipment, accidentally injury, and illness or in extreme cases, permanent trauma or death. ETT believes it is important for its clients to know in advance what to expect and to be informed of inherent risks.

The activities undertaken on this tour may contain other unknown or unanticipated inherent risks may result in injury or death. ETT disclaims responsibility for the activities its clients choose to participate in, and these clients accept full responsibility for risks identified herein and any inherent risks not specifically identified. Any participation in any activity is purely voluntary, and is at the sole election of the participant in spite of and with full knowledge of the inherent risks.

In addition, in rare events ETT may act only as an agent for the various independent suppliers that provide hotels, transportation, sightseeing, activities, or other services connected with any tour provided by ETT. Such services are subject to the terms and conditions of those suppliers. ETT and its respective employees, agents, representatives, and assigns accept no liability whatsoever for any injury, damages or expenses of any kind due to sickness, weather, strikes, hostilities, wars, terrorist acts, acts of nature, local laws or other such causes. All services and accommodations are subject to local regulations of Taiwan. ETT is not responsible for any baggage or personal effects of any individual participating in the tours or trips arranged by ETT. Individual travellers are responsible for purchasing a travel insurance, if desired, that will cover some of the expenses associated with the loss of luggage or personal effects.

By agreeing to participate in a tour with ETT, you consent to the use of your image and/or videos that may be taken during your tour in the marketing and promotional materials of ETT, including but not limited to website, social media, print advertising, email advertising, brochures, television advertising, radio advertising, business cards, and any other promotional material at the discretion of ETT.

Accuracy of information

ETT make every effort to make sure that the information contained on this site is accurate. To the best of our knowledge, research and belief, all statements and information given are correct. We will make every effort to correct quickly any errors brought to our attention. However, we accept no responsibility for errors or inaccuracies.

Personal responsibility

You are responsible for your personal health being up to the physical demands of the tour. If you have any questions about a tour's level of difficulty, please ask us. You are also responsible for compliance with the local regulations of Taiwan, including all traffic regulations.

Cancellation & Tour policy

Passport Copy is required

After you complete the payment, each participant will be asked to upload passport copy for insurance purpose by Eye Travel Taiwan ("ETT"). ETT collects your personal information only for insurance purpose and permit application (necessary for some tours), not for other purpose. By booking our tour, you are accepting to upload your information to help ETT complete the application of insurance and permit (necessary for some tours). If you refuse to disclose your information to ETT, please DO NOT book the tour. If ETT doesn’t receive any needed information from you in time and results in the failure of the application of insurance and permit (necessary for some tours), the tour will be cancelled and all deposit will be forfeited by ETT.

If NOT meet the minimum participant requirement for Group Tour only

A minimum of 3 people are required for the group tour to operate and the tour may probably be cancelled even it is confirmed if it ends with an inadequate number of participants to meet the minimum requirement on the scheduled departure date. You will be offered an alternative tour or full refund.

  1. You can replace this group tour with any available private tour on our website and pay the price difference between group tour and private tour.
  2. If only two participants on the scheduled departure date and each participant agrees to pay extra NT 500 per person, the tour will not be cancelled and will start on schedule.
  3. Cancel the tour and get 100% refund.

Cancellation Policy for Group tour and Private Tour both

Flexibility of the tour

We cannot guarantee to cover every spot listed above due to the weather, traffic condition, time or other unexpected incidents, but our guide will offer you an satisfactory and unforgettable tour as much as he or she can.

Overtime extra charge

General speaking, the duration of the tour is 8 hours. If you would like to extend the tour (over 8 hours), please check details on extra option page as booking.

Admission Fee Excluded

Generally speaking, admission fee is excluded in the tour. If you want the tour guide with you to the attractions with admission requirement, please cover the fee of our tour guide.

Waiver form for OUTDOOR ACTIVITY

Each participant will be asked to sign the "Waiver form" from Taroko National Park or Eye Travel Taiwan before we start the tour on the trailhead on the scheduled departure date. The waiver form applies to the Zhuilu Old Trail Hike Tour, River Tracing Tour, Mugumuyu Tour or Lisong Hot Spring Tour… etc.
